Mike Bird - Director MRB TRaining Ltd. As founder of the company, Mike has over 20 years of experience in training  and incident management.  He holds a level 4 certificate in Use of Force  Instructing, a level 3 Certificate in Training Practice (CIPD), a Level 4 CTTLS  award and a Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training  (BTEC).  He is a qualified Neuro – Linguistic Programming Practitioner and is a Police  trained Response Driver. Mike has many years’ experience in the delivery of specialised training. He  was formerly a Senior Officer in the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) for 20 years; he  reached the level of National Use of Force Instructor at the National Tactical  Response Group (NTRG). Training Prison staff, Police, Immigration and  International staff.  Mike is a specialist in Less Lethal Hostage Rescue, Method of Entry and  Working at Height. He has been involved in the resolution of many serious  incidents as an advising tactical commander and operative for the Ministry of  Justice.    He was instrumental in professionalising the MOJ’s use of force curriculum.  This is now recognised by an independent awarding body, He also assisted in developing NTRG into a quality assured Skillsmark endorsed provider of adult  learning.
Delivery in Excellence
Mike has developed close links with Police forces in the UK and the Centre for  Applied Science and Technology (Formerly HOSDB)  He is called upon in a consultancy capacity by the European Union for advice  and guidance in the development of Use of Force curriculum for developing  countries. He has delivered training for security staff at the Organisation for the  Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague. Mike has a strong desire to develop Special Operations training and tactics  for International Justice Services.  Mike’s knowledge and unique delivery style is unparalleled and he is held in  high regard around the country.   Mike is the Senior Training Advisor at Salford University for Prison Studies,  assisting in the research and delivery of standardised training for international  Prison services. He has successfully become a Senior Police Training Associate at the  International Police Training and Consulting Services (IPTACS).   Mike is called upon by a number of legal firms to provide expert witness  advice and court reports on the Use of Force and custodial practices.
